Chief Southwell has a lengthy career in emergency services holding a variety of positions. He joined Bulverde Spring Branch Emergency Services in 1995.

Chief Southwell was born and raised in San Antonio, attended school at St. Gerard and San Antonio College.  His father was an operations manager for a pharmaceutical company and his mother was a nurse.

Mark is married to Jill and they have four children and nine grandchildren. He enjoys hunting, fishing and chasing after grandkids.

Chief Torres joined BSB Emergency Services in February 2002. While working for a private EMS agency in San Antonio, he was recruited by our organization's employees to join us.

Prior to that, Torres worked in the Rio Grande Valley for a large 9-1-1 emergency system that covered the majority of Hidalgo County and Laredo as an Emergency Room Paramedic Tech.

Chief Torres enjoys spending his free time outdoors, either hunting, fishing, kayaking, and every other outdoor activity. He, his wife, children, and dogs live here in the Hill Country and truly love it!

Battalion Chiefs

Battalion chiefs are responsible for ensuring that every specialized role is covered for each shift. They are also tasked with leading their team of firefighters, as well as monitoring safety precautions and equipment use.
